‘Avanti’ was born 25 years ago from a passion to deliver a quality range of bikes that had a real sense of style and performance while not compromising on value for money. The brand was started by John Struthers, owner and operator of Sheppard Industries Limited, a privately held New Zealand company established in the 1940’s and bought by Struthers in 1980. Since 1985 the brand has grown consistently and has a dominant share in both the New Zealand and Australian markets with over one million Avanti’s sold to Kiwi and Australian riders over the past 25 years. In 2009 the company commenced distribution in several other key off shore markets and has plans for further expansion in the future. All Avanti bikes are proudly designed down-under from the businesses head quarters in Mount Wellington. Avanti is a proud foundation partner and fanatical supporter of Pure Black Racing and is united with the dream of a kiwi team competing successfully in the Tour De France.
